Heat, Cold, Rain Considerations

Heat

The Summer Heat Safety protocol was terminated by a majority vote of teams at our league managers' meeting held on 6/12/2024, at 7:00pm, at the Land O' Lakes Recreation Center. Voting for and against the rule was as follows:

Sharks 54's - Yes, keep the rule

LA 64's - Yes, keep the rule

LA54's - Yes, keep the rule

Bulls - Yes, keep the rule

Stars - No

Sharks 64's - No

Reds - No

Thunder - No

Nighthawks - No

Crusaders - No

Cold

Managers at the meeting held on 12/4/2024 agreed to cancel the morning game if the temperature at the scheduled game start time is 40° or less, this will rarely, if ever affect the afternoon games. There may be cases where the morning game start time is delayed, up to 30 minutes, if the temperature is expected to rise enough to allow play, subsequently delaying the afternoon game start time as well.

Rain

If there has been rain, or rain is forecasted early, the fields will be inspected early on Sunday morning to determine if they are playable. A decision to play or cancel the games will usually be made by 7:00am, and the managers will be subsequently notified by text of the field conditions. There may be cases where the person inspecting the fields determines that they would be playable for the afternoon games. In such case, the morning games would be canceled, but the afternoon games would be played.
